About project
Traditional understanding of ‘cute’ design seems to revolve only around aesthetics - It’s always about how round, soft and smooth something is. Through an exploration of cute, we realize that cute is more than skin deep.
How might we...
How might we tap on the values of cuteness to overcome an undesirable situation?
Role
This design thesis was completed under the guidance of Dr Christian Boucharenc (NUS DID Associate Professor).

Cuteness is an approach motivation, with the ability to engender intimacy and overcome undesirables.

Through the discovery of the qualities of cute, 'cute' was injected into an undesirable situation to maximize its value. This thesis explore how 'cute, inside out' can help girls to overcome the negative perception of soiled disposable sanitary pads, to encourage proper handling and disposal of it.

I created this space to remember, reflect on, and to celebrate the works of my journey as a designer.
